It is in deep winter though, the spring air is felt in Suzhou Lantian Natural Gas Heat Power Plant, embellished with green lawn in either side of the roads in plant zone, and fresh flowers blossoming everywhere.

Encouraged by the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC National Congress, under common endeavors from the overhauling crew members of Nanjing Nangang Power and Equipment Installation Company, with the close assistance from the related leaders and engineering and technical personnel of Suzhou Lantian Power Co., Ltd., the medium overhauling project for the No.2 PG9171E turbine in Suzhou Lantian NG Thermal Power Plant was smoothly completed on Dec. 13, 2013. On Dec. 14, 2013, the turbine set testing and adjustment were completed and the turbine was put into normal running.

The major overhauling items of the overhauling project are as below:

1.Inspect the combustion fuel nozzles;
2.Inspect the combustion parts including the crossfire tubes, fire liners, transition pieces and etc., and replace with 14 new fire liners;
3.Inspect the air compressor IGV vanes;
4.Replace the 1st stage turbine nozzles, and inspect the 2nd and 3rd stage turbine nozzles;
5.Inspect the rotors in turbine 1st, 2nd and 3rd stages, and replace the rotors in turbine 1st, 2nd and 3rd stages;
6.Inspect shrouds in turbine 1st, 2nd and 3rd stages;
7.Inspect and measure the clearance between turbine rotors and stators;
8.Inspect related parts in lube system and replace the lube oil filtering cartridge;
9.Dismantle and inspect the auxiliary gearbox;
10.Dismantle and inspect cooling water pump motors;
11.Inspect the inlet system;
12.Inspect the cooling seal air system;
13.Inspect the clearance between IGVs;
14.Mend air leakage in exhaust frame, and inspect the frame walls and flexible gaskets after air exhaust;
15.Treat the defections existed in turbine operation;
16.Inspect all the turbine set disposable elements;
17.Calibrate and correct all pressure meters and switches in the turbine set;
18.Calibrate the Bently vibration sensors in the turbine set, and replace all defected sensors;

Through the medium overhauling, the turbine set was successfully started up by the one-time firing. The turbine set performs normally in normal operation.

In the medium overhauling project, beside the mainframe, the items of accessory parts and thermal controlling parts are enormous, and requirement is high so the workload is stressful. Furthermore, not only are the systemic inspections on inlet, exhaust, combustion and turbine parts executed as per the medium overhauling instructions, but also replace the turbine 1st, 2nd and 3rd stages rotors without drawing the turbine rotors out of the casing, which increased the difficulty for the overhauling process.

In the overhauling project, the exit pipes of two sets of fans in smoke exhaust ventilator 88QV were installed with one-way valves respectively.

The instructions to our personnel is to always and similarly well serve each project, and enhance our working level continuously via our endeavors, so as to make the customers satisfy our services.
